HBO’s “Euphoria” Renewed For Second Season After Only Four Episodes

After only four episodes of its first season, “Euphoria,” the provocative teen drama starring Zendaya, has been renewed for a second season with HBO. 

The network announced the news on Thursday, highlighting the show’s creator for his incredible creation and casting. “Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya,” Francesca Orsi, of HBO Programming, said in a statement. “We are so grateful that he chose HBO as the home for this groundbreaking series. We look forward to following these complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit.”

Season one premiered on June 16, chronicling the lives of a group of high school students, as they deal with drugs, sex, social media, friendship, love and other traumatic teen experiences. Its premiere garnered over 5 million viewers, and now, the network can expect to build upon that success with a new season. The second half of the first season is set to continue on Sunday.
