Feds have cleared DMX in a valet case where he and his entourage mistakenly drove away from a restaurant in someone else’s Corvette.
According to TMZ, DMX and his crew left a Los Angeles restaurant in another diner’s car following a mix-up with valet, and the car was reported stolen. But, the bigger issue for DMX was a question of whether or not he was behind the wheel.
The feds were looking to prove that the rapper violated his probation in his tax evasion case by driving a stolen vehicle.
The incident happened outside an STK restaurant in West Hollywood back in March. One of the members of the rapper’s entourage misplaced their ticket for their Corvette. The valet workers remembered the group, and one of them said he would just go fetch the car. DMX’s friend got behind the wheel with the rapper in the passenger seat and they took off.
Soon after the true owner of the Corvette came to pick up his car and it was missing, he reported the car stolen. When the police arrived on the scene, the valet explained the mix-up and the Corvette was eventually recovered.
X’s lawyer, Murray Richman, told TMZ … “DMX met with his probation officer and everything is fine. We’re told the rapper’s in the clear as far as a potential probation violation goes.”
