A former Clayton County, Georgia jail clerk named Sharon says she was fired after she reported a supervisor’s behavior at work, and she is asking why.
According to WSB-TV Atlanta, Sharon told the station she reported that her supervisor, Gwenevere, gave a deputy a lap dance at the jail. Gwenevere was reportedly suspended for five days without pay for unprofessional behavior.
Sharon told WSB-TV that she was terminated without being given a reason and questioned the difference in discipline. “Everyone else gets suspension,” she said.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office gave a different account. According to Complex, the office said Sharon was fired for gossiping, making false allegations in writing, and lying while under investigation. Sharon denies those accusations and says everything she reported was true.
The sheriff’s office is led by Sheriff Victor Hill. No further findings had been announced at the time of this report.
