R. Kelly’s former manager pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to receive child pornography on Friday.
Milton Brown is the former manager of singer-songwriter Kelly, who’s also been charged along with other associates of the singer. Kelly was arraigned in Chicago on Friday.
According to NBC Chicago, Brown, also known as June Brown, could be looking at five to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. Brown was ordered to pay a $4,500 unsecured bond, the outlet reports.
Derrel McDavid, Kelly’s former business manager, also faces one count of conspiracy to receive child pornography and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice, as well as two counts of receiving child pornography. Like Brown, McDavid also pleaded not guilty to the charges. A judge set bond at $500,000. He was released on bond Friday afternoon.
However, McDavid’s lawyer says his client will be relieved of the charges and said it is a shame that his client is being connected to the “vendetta” against Kelly.
