Angie Martinez has been tapped to host a new show on We TV.
Longtime radio personality Martinez will be making her next big media appearance as the newest host of WETV’s “Untold Stories of Hip-Hop,” Page Six reports. Set to visit the show are celebrities like #QueenLatifah, #IceCube, #SnoopDogg, #CardiB, and #DjKhaled. The series will focus on the behind-the-scene stories that contributed to what Hip Hop is today.
“Hip Hop music and culture is at the foundation of the WE tv brand, and as the genre’s influence only continues to grow and impact the world around us, it’s incredibly important to preserve these untold stories for the culture,” WE TV president Marc Juris said in a press release. He added, “From our series that spotlight Hip Hop royalty to documentaries that share the true stories of artists throughout the industry, Hip Hop has formed who we are and we’re excited to take a closer look at the artists who’ve left their mark and at those who continue the legacy.”
Each episode will last an hour long and will cover “never-before-told tales,” and iconic verses and historical beefs. This will be produced by production companies Entertainment One and Creature Film, and Martinez will serve as one of the executive producers. No release date has been announced.
