The woman who allegedly urinated on potatoes in a West Mifflin Walmart turned herself in on Tuesday, police said.
20-year-old Grace Brown was reportedly charged with misdemeanor open lewdness, summary counts of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness, stemming from an incident on July 24.
According to Fox News, the West Mifflin Police Department were able to identify the woman through a number of photos from surveillance footage.
In a written statement, Walmart shared that a store employee witnessed Brown‘s behavior, and apparently, the store attempted to handle the situation.
“The safety of our customers is a top priority for us,” a spokesperson for Walmart wrote. “This type of obscene conduct is outrageous, and we immediately disposed of the affected products and sanitized the area to ensure its cleanliness and safety for our customers.”
While Brown has to yet to address the charges publicly, her attorney, Casey White says she’s “embarrassed” by her “mistake.”
“Clearly, she doesn’t want to see herself portrayed in that light. She’s a young lady that has a full-time job. She’s a high school graduate. She’s working to make her life better,” White said.
“She’s embarrassed,” White added. “She’s a young woman that made a mistake, but she’s going to address whatever issues she may or may not have. She’s going to move forward.”
This incident comes after a number of viral videos on social media show people purposely contaminating food, drinks, and other household items over the past two months.
