Disney/Pixar’s ’Toy Story 4’ finally crossed the $1 billion mark, putting Disney in a position no other major studio has even reached: five films grossing over $1B in a single year. Projections show that ‘Frozen 2’ and ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’ will bring the count to 7 titles.
According to Deadline, Disney could do half the business their doing this year and still beat out the nearest rival, Warner Bros. Their sources say this is the most fierce year against Disney due to the fact they are launching Disney+ in November. The streaming service will most likely be the most formidable competition to Netflix, costing only $6.99 a month, CNN reports.
Other Disney films to pass $1 billion mark, includes ‘Captain Marvel’($1.1B), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ ($2.795B), ‘The Lion King’ ($1.3B) and ‘Aladdin’ ($1.03B).
‘Toy Story 4’ surpassed the $1 billion globally Wednesday, August 14, 2019.
