A TSA Agent in Rochester, New York is without a job after slipping a traveler a two-word message on a piece of paper.
Traveler, Neal Strassner, was passing through a metal detector at Rochester International Airport when an agent handed him a note.
According to ABC 13, Strassner didn’t think much of the note at first until the agent called him back to open the note. The note read, “You Ugly.”
“You never really know where somebody is in their day or their head. The more you think about, it the more you realize it’s easier to smile than to do this,” Strassner said.
The unnamed employee can then be seen on video ripping cardboard from what appears to be a box of nitrile gloves, the medical grade latex-free gloves often used by security personnel at airports, and jotting down another note.
Since the incident, TSA has released a statement. “TSA holds contractors to the highest ethical standards and has zero-tolerance for this type of behavior. This instance, which involved a contract employee, was investigated immediately upon receiving the complaint by the traveler. The contractor has since terminated the employee,” the statement said.
