It looks like Disney’s Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are stuck in a web of problems regarding the SpiderMan, as the two companies can’t agree on new financing terms for upcoming Spider-Man films.

After some back-and-forth, it looks like Marvel Studios and Sony have ended their partnership, and will no longer work on future Spider-Man films together.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two companies were struggling to come to a new financial agreement. Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige explained he would not produce future Spider-Man films, which has now pushed Tom Holland’s Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This all comes after Disney demanded that upcoming Spider-Man films be financed 50/50 between the two brands. However, Sony was looking to keep the same deal, which would allow Marvel to continue to receive about 5 percent of the first-dollar gross, Variety reports.

Feige is a longtime member of the Marvel production team. He received his first full producer credits over 10 years ago with “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk.” All of his films have a combined worldwide box office of over $26.8 billion. He also won an Academy Award nomination for Best picture, producing “Black Panther.” The film made history as the first superhero movie ever to be nominated for an Oscar.

His credits go even higher with his work on “Avengers: Endgame,” which knocked off “Avatar” as the highest-grossing film of all time. However now, according to Variety, Sony may still be interested in producing two more Spider-Man films with Tom Holland returning as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Neither Sony nor Marvel has responded to requests for comments.
