Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Slams ‘Straight Pride’ Parade, Calling It An “I-Struggle-With-Masculinity” Parade

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had her choice of words for participants of Boston’s ‘Straight Pride’ parade and its apparent lack of female attendees, calling it an ‘I-Struggle-With-Masculinity’ parade. About 200 people marched in the ‘Straight Pride’ parade Saturday, to celebrate traditional families and defend heterosexuality.

Ocasio-Cortez tweeted, “For men who are allegedly so “proud” of being straight, they seem to show real incompetence at attracting women to their event. Seems more like an “I-Struggle-With-Masculinity” parade to me. Hope they grow enough over the next year to support / join LGBTQ fam next #Pride”

The controversial rally held in Boston’s downtown area led to a clash between ‘Super Happy Fun America,’ the group that organized the parade, and counter-protesters who were out in full force, labeling the event as being homophobic. The ‘Straight Pride’ parade’s organizers said on its website that the event was held to “achieve inclusivity and spread awareness of issues impacting straights.”

Boston police officer James Moccia, a department spokesman, told CNN that 34 people were arrested during the parade. The parade also reportedly led to a handful of officers suffering injuries.
