Football season is here, and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is already proving that he’s ready to bring his best game to the field. In July, Newton filmed a video on the “Mr. Beast” YouTube channel where Newton caught 51 balls with one hand in 60 seconds thrown to him by the 20-year-old YouTuber, Chandler Hallow. Newton set a new world record-breaking the previous ones of Jarvis Landry and Brady Quinn, who both caught 48 each. Surprisingly, this record was also previously broken by other NFL stars including Antonio Brown, Kirk Cousins, Odell Beckham Jr., and Drew Brees.
In the video, Newton proudly boasts that he “has the best hands in the NFL” and proceeds to partner with Hallow to break two other Guinness World Records for the longest completed between-the-legs catch (39 yards) and the longest blindfolded catch in motion (24 yards). Newton’s success could also be attributed to his recent change in diet. He claims to “feel like a rookie again” thanks to adopting a vegan diet. He said, “That helps a lot. I’ve been a vegan all year, and I don’t think I’m going back. I feel good. I recover well. And that’s pretty much what it’s all about.”
Congrats to Cam on breaking world records and a healthy football season.
