Antonio Brown has been dropped by a helmet company amid rape and sexual assault allegations.
Helmet manufacturer Xenith has dropped Brown after a sexual assault lawsuit against the New England Patriots player emerged, according to ESPN’s Schefter.
Friday reports show Brown would not be added to the commissioner’s exempt list and be cleared to play in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins. He will have to play with a new helmet following his long-standing battle to play with an old helmet that is no longer allowed in the league.
This comes three days after alleged rape victim #BritneyTaylor filed a lawsuit against, claiming that Brown assaulted her on three different occasions between 2017 and 2018. In the lawsuit, Taylor claims Brown forcibly raped her in his Miami home. Taylor is a former trainer for the New England Patriots.
The lawsuit includes text messages appearing to show Brown bragging about one incident, in which he allegedly masturbated on her back. The lawsuit also explains that Brown allegedly convinced her to meet again after she claims he apologized. Brown has denied all allegations and is reportedly counter-suing for civil extortion. The NFL is now investigating Taylor’s claims and reportedly plans to meet with her.
