An organization named after the Sandy Hook school shooting, which is dedicated to fighting gun violence, just sent a graphic and powerful message as kids head back to school.
Sandy Hook Promise debuted the new PSA Wednesday called “Back-to-School Essentials,” which starts out like your average back-to-school big box-style ad, plugging everyday products that kids use on campus. However, the ad quickly ends in violence, as it showed unsettling images to send a deep and powerful message to parents and students.
“It’s back to school time, and you know what that means. School shootings are preventable when you know the signs,” the PSA said.
The PSA reminded the public of the deadly 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting that claimed the lives of 26 people, including 20 children between the ages of 6-7.
