T.I. and Iggy Azalea haven’t had the smoothest relationship over the years. The Grand Hustle rapper once was instrumental in helping launch the Australian female emcees’ career, but now, T.I says that may have been a mistake.
In a recent interview with The Root, he went to explain just how big a mistake cosigning her had been, claiming she tarnished his legacy.
“I’m still actively looking for another female rapper who can undo the blunder of Iggy Azalea,” T.I. explained. “That is the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] an [music] executive is concerned. To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball.” Many took his remark as harsh words due to the fact that the NBA stars’ brief minor league career went terribly.
According to Complex, Iggy posted and deleted a tweet, responding to his comment stating, “Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder,” she said. “Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you.”
The publication reports the two haven’t worked together since they cut ties in 2015, but their relationship dates back to 2011 after the release of her debut mixtape Ignorant Art.
