Ludacris is crazy about education, and that’s why he’s going back to Georgia State University as an artist-in-residence for his new apprenticeship program.

Rapper and businessman Ludacris is joining Georgia State’s Creative Media Industries Institute (CMII) this fall as an artist-in-residence, according to local station 11 Alive. The artist will reportedly be working closely with CMII professors, focusing on entrepreneurship in the music and film industries, as well as mentoring students.

“Chris is an incredibly talented artist and has so much industry knowledge to share,” said CMII executive director Brennen Dicker. “We are excited to see how our students, and really the entire institute, will benefit from this great new partnership.” CMII was created in 2014, and its mission is to prepare students for careers that go beyond the average degree programs and facilitates students’ relationship with Atlanta’s film, music video game industries. Before his journey to becoming a successful recording studio artist, Luda attended Georgia State, and now, the rapper says he feels connected to the university and its future. “Georgia State is one of the most innovative and diverse universities in the country,” he said, “I couldn’t imagine a better place to work with students than CMII.”

Ludacris has dedicated much of his life to the music industry, giving us timeless records as well as providing his community with educational programs and several business ventures. He has sold more than 20 million records worldwide and recently executive produced and hosted the television show “Fear Factor” for three seasons. In addition, he’s an amazing actor as well.

Luda appeared with prominent roles in “Crash,” “Hustle & Flow,” and “Law and Order – Special Victims Unit.” He’s also shooting the ninth installment of the global box-office hit franchise, “The Fast and the Furious,” which will be released in 2020, and plans to drop his 10th studio solo album in 2020. He is the founder of Disturbing tha’ Peace record label.

Congrats, Luda!
