“Fake it until you make it” has been taken to a new level because now you purchase a replica Lamborghini for $40,000.
Randy Morrow is a retired officer from Tennessee who decided to start selling custom-built replicas of a 2010 Lamborghini LP 640 for $40,000. Meanwhile, actual versions of the luxury sports car go for more than $200,000.
According to reports, Morrow took the 2010 car to a body shop where they covered it in green and built the majority of the car. He then added his own touches, replacing the old steering wheel with a carbon fiber one to “give it a classier look.”
Morrow spent about $4,000 fixing the car, making sure to take care of mechanical issues. He also installed racing components in the car’s interior. The original interior was solid black, but he added “Verde Ithica” green accents. According to Morrow, there are only 27 original Lamborghini Murcielago LP640s in the U.S., the replica is based on the original model.
He also decked the car out with grills on the rear and had the wheels dipped in black coating. One of his final touches was adding black diamond stitching on the inside of the doors as well as other minor details.
