Earlier this year, at the age of 69, billionaire Richard Branson set out to create his own cruising company as he never found a ship that suited his needs. According to People magazine, his mission was “to try to create a cruise ship that was fun, and that was for adults.”
”Scarlet Lady” is the first cruise ship by Virgin Voyages, which is set to sail to the Caribbean in April 2020.
With such high demand and interest in the adult-only themed cruise line, a second ship, “Valiant Lady” is gearing up to sail the Mediterranean coast in May 2021.
Virgin Voyages offers 20 all-inclusive dining options for guests versus the standard buffets offered on most cruise lines. There are no standard dining times, formal wear requests, or assigned seating. In addition, there’s a “no tip” policy as gratuity will be included in the price of your trip. Amenities include an onsite tattoo parlor, hair and nail salon, nightclub, spa, and fitness center.
For many, a kid-free cruise will be a welcoming experience to enjoy a relaxing getaway or a fun excursion. The ships will hold up to 2,770 guests, and prices start at $1,300 per stateroom. With itineraries to popular destinations and affordable pricing, Virgin Voyages is sure to be a popular and long overdue option for cruise-goers.
