Reports began swirling a few days ago, after a social media page pretending to be #JoycelynSavage revealed she would be sharing her story about her alleged relationship with #RKelly.
Taking to Patreon to share her truth, Savage began to charge readers by signing up for a membership to the website ranging from $3 to $25. There were approximately more than 1,800 users that signed up for a membership to witness Savage share her alleged story about her relationship with R. Kelly.
Now days later after unsuccessfully being able to verify if Savage is truly the voice behind the account, the page has been removed from Patreon.
“After multiple unsuccessful attempts to verify the identity of the account holder, we closed the Patreon page allegedly associated with Joycelyn Savage due to potential impersonation,” a spokesperson for Patreon revealed to TMZ. “All patrons who signed up for the membership page were refunded and the creator did not receive any funds.”
Patreon has been trying to verify the account since Monday and will give the person behind the account a few more days to provide a government-issued form of identification or they run the risk of being shut down for good, according to TMZ.
The person behind the account pretending to be Savage has made many allegations against R. Kelly with physical abuse being one of the many awful things alleged.
R. Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg believed the account belonged to Savage stating, “It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert.” He later then retracted his comments in now-deleted tweets stating that they cannot confirm whether Joycelyn is behind the account.
