Michael B. Jordan is trying to bring a new angle to the man of steel.
According to Variety, the DC Universe isn’t quite done with Superman just yet, as Black Panther alum Michael B. Jordan reportedly pitched an idea for a new take on the Man of Steel to Warner Bros. earlier this year. Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society, signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros. in January, so it’s not all too shocking that the star would make the move from Marvel to DC, leaving behind Eric Killmonger for Clark Kent.

If Jordan’s adaption is greenlit-the project reportedly would not come out in theaters until at 2023.
The star and producer of “David Makes Man” is booked and busy with a long list of upcoming projects, including playing a young Morpheus in the “Matrix” Prequel.

Warner Brothers Studios is also releasing a slew of new superhero features soon, including ”Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey” which comes out Feb. 7, the ”Batman” reboot starring Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz and Gal Gadot’s ”Wonder Woman 1984” which hits theaters on June 5, just to name a few.

With the success of “darker” superhero films like this year’s blockbuster “Joker,” DC is reportedly hoping capitalize on this new trend of more pernicious versions of classic comic book stories. Making the idea of a new Superman and his story more R-rated than not.

Despite the reports of a reboot, the project is still in the “talking” stage as there is no script or director attached to Jordan’s pitch.
