2019 has been a monumental, record-breaking year for Disney Studios. The back to back releases of fan favorites like ”Avengers: Endgame,” ”Frozen 2,” and ”The Lion King,” which each surpassed billion-dollar ticket sales, led everyone to the movies and contributed to the studio reaching this historic goal.

All year, critics have speculated whether the movie studio would be able to break its own box office record of $7.6 billion, which was originally set in 2016. However, it became increasingly apparent that Disney had the magic formula for success in order to smash their own record. This is an incredible accomplishment considering, the final installment of the Star Wars saga, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” is set to hit theaters later this month.

Disney is responsible for six of the ten highest-earning movies all year, and ”Avengers: Endgame,” is ranked as the highest-grossing movie of all time with over $2.79 billion in ticket sales. ”The Lion King” brought in $1.6 billion, ”Captain Marvel” $1.2 billion, ”Toy Story 4” $1.07 billion, ”Aladdin” $1.05 billion, and ”Frozen 2” with $920 million.

According to reports, Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst said, “Disney has consistently put almost unfathomable numbers on the board by delivering a diverse and irresistible slate of films while capitalizing on the goodwill and viewer loyalty that has been built up by years.”
