Super Bowl LIV is coming in February, which means it’s almost time for everyone’s favorite part of the big event, the commercials. For the first time ever, social media giant Facebook will air a 60-second ad during this year’s Super Bowl.
The commercial is set to star Sylvester Stallone and Chris Rock.
Stallone took to social media to share the exciting news while describing his on-set chemistry with Rock and also tweeting a clip of the upcoming commercial.
“It was fantastic working with @chrisrock. We go along great,” Stallone shared with his followers. “Admire his wit… @Facebook did a great job producing, and it is going to be amazingly entertaining at #SuperBowlLIV.”
According to Deadline, the ad is a part of Facebook’s “More Together” marketing campaign that promotes Facebook groups. The campaign is pitched as a gateway for its users to find community among each other by way of similar interests as well as affiliations.
Facebook has over 2 billion active users and is ramping up its spending on advertising and marketing.
While pricing and placement during the big game for the 60-second ad have yet to be reported, last month, Fox Sports announced its ad inventory had sold out for the game. However, the corporation did reveal that pricing for 30-second ads is an estimated $5.6 million, which was up from $5.3 million than last year.
Television’s biggest watched event during the year will take place on Feb 2.
