ABC News Premiering ‘Truth and Lies: Jeffrey Epstein’ Special & Podcast

According to Deadline, ABC News is premiering a two-hour broadcast special and eight-part podcast exploring the life of Jeffrey Epstein. The two-hour broadcast special is set to air Thursday, January 9 at 9 PM ET on ABC.

The two-hour broadcast delves into Epstein’s life and background story raises questions and unveils specific details about how he earned his money, his relationships with high-profile figures, decades of him sexually abusing young girls, and the federal sex trafficking charges he faced before his death.

The special, “features material from a 2003 interview in which Epstein discusses his life; deposition tapes of Epstein and his alleged co-conspirators; police interviews with the young girls; and their personal reactions today to seeing Epstein appear in court last summer.”

The eight-part podcast will be hosted by ABC News’ Mark Remillard. It will be available for free on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Pandora, Spotify, Stitcher, TuneIn, and the ABC News app premiering January 9 with new episodes available every Thursday.

The special and podcast were announced shortly after politically conservative website Project Veritas uploaded a video where ABC News’ Amy Robach was unaware of her mic being on. In the video, she complained about the network not approving her interview with one of Epstein’s accusers. Robach explained later that she was unknowingly heard on the mic, “in a private moment of frustration.”

‘Truth and Lies: Jeffrey Epstein’ is the ninth special in the highly regarded ‘Truth and Lies’ series that first premiered back in 2017. Previous specials featured the Menendez brothers, Charles Manson, Watergate, Laci Peterson, Waco, Tonya Harding, Jonestown, and the Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton scandal.
