Outrage has ensued after an NYPD officer was sentenced to a blasphemous two weeks in jail for forcing his way into a black family’s home and threatening the homeowner.

25-year-old Michael Reynolds pleaded no contest to felony aggravated burglary and three counts of misdemeanor assault related to a break-in while in Nashville, Tennessee, where he drunkenly broke into the home of Conese Halliburton‘s during the morning of July 9th, 2018.

Reynolds was staying at an Airbnb next door to Halliburton while on vacation. At approximately 2:30 a.m., he entered her home, making it past the first bedroom before her oldest two sons were able to stop him. As a terrified Halliburton frantically called 911, surveillance footage caught Reynolds yelling to the homeowner, “Try to shoot me, I’ll break every bone in your f—ing neck, you f—ing n—–.” Once officers arrived and interviewed Reynolds, they declined to arrest him. Days later, the Nashville area police decided to investigate Reynolds in relation to the incident.

Halliburton, along with two of her neighbors, Joetta Alders and Justin Roddick, testified in court that Reynolds and his friends were unapologetic when they were confronted in the days following the attack.

“He said he was sorry with a smile on his face.” Halliburton recounted.

Reynolds also took the stand, stating that he had indeed been intoxicated. However, he claims to have blacked out during the break-in. He claims he had no recollection of the incident and was only made aware of it when his friends explained it to him the following day. During a more than two-hour sentencing hearing on December 6th, the officer received about two weeks in jail and three years of probation.

He was decommissioned and suspended for 30 days. However, he remains employed with the NYPD.
