In case you missed it, Rachel Dolezal appeared on the ‘TODAY’ show with Matt Lauer this morning to talk about her recent scandal. The interview didn’t come without a few more lies, however.
In the interview Rachel says that she’s identified with black people since she was 5 years old and would draw self portraits of herself with brown skin and curly black hair. Unfortunately, Rachel’s dad Larry says she’s never drawn herself with brown crayon. He also says Rachel didn’t start identifying as black until she was well into her 20’s or 30’s. This makes sense considering that she attended Howard University and then sued them for racial discrimination — as a white woman.
Rachel Dolezal also says she has an issue with black face and as far as why her skin is significantly darker than it was when she was growing up, she says “I didn’t exactly stay out of the sun.” I can honestly say that sun tans are not orange but spray tans are. Stop it, Rachel.
You can watch the interview in its entirety below in case you missed it. Me, I’m exhausted by her. Also, if you want to hear another lie, Dolezal also used to plagiarize artwork and sell it for thousands. Here’s an article about a JMW Turner painting she plagiarized and sold for $10,000.
