Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young is bringing relief to many people in Atlanta who have fallen victim to medical bills that they cannot afford to pay.
The 21-year-old Texas native has partnered with RIP Medical Debt, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was started in 2014 by two former debt collectors, to pull off the massive contribution, totaling $1,059,186.39 worth of medical debt
“Giving back to this community is extremely important to me. I hope these families can find a bit of relief knowing that their bills have been taken care of as we enter the New Year,” Young explained.
The efforts targeted individuals who fell under the federal poverty level and/or had debt of 5 percent or more of their gross annual income.
