The Philadelphia Police Department has released surveillance footage of a robbery that took place January 3 around noon inside of a Rite Aid pharmacy, and are looking for the man who claims the robbery was because he had “a sick child.”
In the video, the unidentified man, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, enters the store and approaches the cashier with an item in his hand that turned out to be a note that read, “Give me all the money. I’m sorry, I have a sick child. You have 15 seconds.”
The suspect then leans over while reaching in his pocket, prompting the cashier to open the drawer and put the money in a plastic bag.
He walks away briefly before returning for the rest of the cash. Police say he fled on foot, north of the pharmacy.
According to Fox News, the man is described as African American, approximately 5 feet 10 inches, with facial hair and was wearing a gray hoodie, jeans and glasses.
