17-Year-Old YG Fan Speaks Out After Being Kicked Off Stage For Not Scolding Trump

At the 2019 Mala Luna Festival, YG exercised his freedom of speech by leading the ever so famous, “f*ck Donald Trump” chant. While many in the crowd were mimicking the rapper, there were bound to be some who weren’t as expressive as others.

One person, in particular, was teenager Austin Joyner. Joyner was unfortunately spotted by YG and was asked to come on stage to publicly denounce the President. Upon Joyner’s refusal, YG proceeded to kick him out, saying, “Get him off the stage. F*ck up outta here. He a Donald Trump supporter,” as the crowd cheered.

Immediately following the incident, Joyner felt targeted. It was to the extreme that police advised him to leave the festival out of concern for his safety.

Months later, Joyner allows himself to reflect on the humiliation attempt.

“Most of the crowd had their middle fingers up and were chanting the song along with YG. All I did was stand there. I didn’t want to present myself in that way,” Joyner said in a letter posted to his Twitter. “At no time did I mention anything regarding politics at the festival. As Americans, we have Freedom of Speech, and while I may not agree with YG’s hatred towards President Trump, as a citizen, he’s allowed to say what he wants. However, he crossed a line when he singled me out for not singing along and tried to humiliate me and get the entire crowd to turn against me in a threatening manner.”

This reflection also comes with his forgiveness to YG. He went on to say in his letter that, “It has taken me a few months for me to fully forgive you, but I did not want to respond to the incident until I did forgive. I forgave you on January 4, 2020. I really don’t want to hold on to those type of feelings.”

According to XXL, Joyner believes the rapper will change his ways similar to Kanye West.

YG has yet to comment.
