After Steve Harvey’s hit talk show ‘Steve’ came to an abrupt end last year on NBC, Kelly Clarkson took over his NBC time slot with ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show.’

On Monday, Harvey shared his feelings about being replaced by Clarkson to Ellen DeGeneres and the audience of her namesake show.

Harvey explained that he’s happy for Clarkson and that he’s already back with another show, ‘Steve On Watch,’  which is his previous talk show revived on Facebook Watch.

“I’m back on TV, you know. Everybody thought I was gone. But I’m happy for people. You know, I’m a person of faith, so when a door closes for me, I just walk up the hall. It’s more doors. You’ve just got to keep going up the hall. So I open other doors, and I’m back on TV, and I’m happy for everybody,” he said.

In reference to Clarkson, whose show has been renewed for a second season, Harvey said she’s “cool people.”

After telling Ellen, “I like Kelly Clarkson, I’m happy for her,” Steve shared a funny story about his friend telling him it’s “big” of him to be happy for the person who replaced his show. His friend then asked Harvey if he watched Clarkson’s show, to which he responded, “I ain’t that happy!”

Harvey, who turns 63 this week, also revealed during the sit-down interview that he recently purchased the international rights to the popular game show, ‘Family Feud,’ which Harvey has hosted since 2010.

“Fremantle owns Family Feud. I went to them — great partners, I cut a deal with them I bought the international rights to Family Feud so now I shoot Family Feud in Africa,” he said.

While the international edition of the show will not air here in the U.S., Steve insists that clips will go viral.

“It’s really big. In April, it airs. It won’t air here, but you’ll see the clips. It’s gone go viral, cause’ me pronouncing African names? That’s it. Cause I don’t do good with English names,” he joked.
