Hillary Rodham Clinton is promoting her upcoming documentary, “Hillary,” in which she will open up about everything from the fiasco that was the 2016 election, how to win the 2020 election, and the Monica Lewinsky scandal that almost cost her husband his presidency.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the four-hour Hulu documentary serves as both a deep-dive on the last presidential election and a biography for the former Secretary of State who stressed that Americans not on board with the current administration need to rally behind whoever they think can win the election, if they truly want to make a difference.
“I am on the side of an inclusive, openhearted generous country,” Clinton said. “And we are in a real struggle with a form of politics that is incredibly negative, exclusive, mean-spirited. It’s going to be up to every voter. This is no ordinary time. For the voters, try to vote for the person most likely to win — and not just the popular vote, the electoral college.”
The documentary, directed by Nanette Burstein, held nothing back and features the biggest milestones in Hillary’s life, with commentary from the 72-year-old politician, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
Among those moments is Bill’s affair with Monica Lewinsky and his subsequent impeachment. It includes interviews with various former aids and staff members, and journalists, and close friends of the family. It will also feature never-before-seen campaign footage from 2016, before Clinton lost the presidential election to Trump.
“It wasn’t like I thought, ‘How can I think about the most stupid thing I could possibly do and do it?'” Bill reflects in the trailer. While Hillary revealed, “I didn’t want anything to do with him,” but credited her daughter for keeping them together. “Chelsea put herself between us and held both our hands,” she said.
The documentary “Hillary” debuts on Hulu on March 6th.
