Social media is reacting to Atlanta rapper Pastor Troy’s homophobic comments on Wednesday, regarding Lil Nas X.
The 42-year-old, who is widely known for his southern anthem “No More Play In GA,” took to Instagram to post a photo of Lil Nas X, who won two Grammys over the weekend, and bashed both the young artist and the Grammys over the agenda that he alleges is being pushed on children.
“Welp, Guess I won’t be winning a GRAMMY,” he began. “If this what I gotta wear. They love to push this shit on Our Kids!! The other day @applebees had some punks kissing and laughing eating mozzarella sticks. First Thing My 14 yr old son said was, “F**** Applebee’s” And It Brought Joy to My Heart!! He sees it…their agenda to take the masculinity from Men, Black Men Especially. Some may say, “He Making Money!!” RuPaul do too, but I ain’t bumping his CD!!! Integrity is Priceless. Y’all Better open that 3rd Eye and let your Sons Know What Is Real…Or They Ass Gone Be Headed Down That Old Town Road Foreal!”
As fans came across the post, many called the rapper out for his homophobia, while others entertained his flawed opinion.
”You shouldn’t post hate messages you are just as bad as they are,” one user wrote, to which the rapper responded, ”Man, you can be whatever you want to be. As for me and my sons…we ain’t wit the gay shit. We Lions,” later adding ”this post is out of love. For young black boys, who will go on to be black men.”
”Why is being gay and proud wrong,” another user asked, to which he responded, ”Because that shit man made. Animals know better. When the last time you seen a gay animal? ok.”
Screenshots of the unwarranted rant eventually wound up on Twitter and on Lil Nas X’s timeline. However, instead of reacting with malice, the “Old Town Road” singer simply replied, “Damn, I look good in that pic on god,” and went about his business. While X may have been unbothered, Twitter had a field day dragging the bitter rapper.
