A Fulton County grand jury has indicted a couple in the death of Alexis, a 21 year old Clark Atlanta University student, authorities announced on Friday. Jordyn, 22, who was Alexis’s roommate, and her boyfriend Barron, 21, each face murder charges. Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Alexis died on October 31, according to the indictment. She was reported missing on November 1, and her body was found on November 8 at a DeKalb County park after a week of searching.

The indictment alleges the couple attacked Alexis at the apartment she shared with Jordyn, suffocated her with a trash bag, placed her body in a bin and left it at the park. Police said the two later attended a Halloween party. Authorities also said the couple partially admitted to their roles during questioning.

Each defendant faces six counts in the indictment, including felony murder, murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and concealing the death of another person. A judge denied bond for Jordyn, citing flight risk and concerns about witness intimidation, and records showed both were being held at the Fulton County Jail.

No statements from attorneys for either defendant were included in reports at the time.
