WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder is gearing up for his February 22nd rematch with Tyson Fury, and Baller Alert spoke to him exclusively about what fight fans can expect from their next match up.
Wilder claims that preparation for the fight has been amazing, and he’s looking forward to it, telling BA, “I feel great, the preparation has been great.”
Wilder has a 42-0-1 record and has won by knockout in every fight apart from his draw with Fury, he thinks fans expectations for their rematch are high because of the controversial ending to the last one.
“The first fight was so electrifying, it was so amazing and then for me to put him down on the ground and for him to rise from the dead and then come out, and it be a controversial decision it just has expectations for the second fight,” Wilder said.
Wilder revealed he likes Fury “as a person” and shared it’s just the business of boxing and not personal.
“People always say it’s not personal it’s business, and it’s always going to be business- this is boxing- so it’s always going to be business. We’re going to release our negative energy towards each other inside of the ring, and once the air clears- that’s how we can embrace each other and tell each other, we love each other.”
The champ promises fans will get their monies worth on February 22nd, “One thing about Deontay Wilder that has always been said is you gon get your money worth- from the start to the finish.”
