Jamie Foxx is being presented with the ‘Excellence in the Arts’ award at this year’s fourth annual ABFF Honors. The honor represents “contemporary artist whose work has been critically acclaimed.”
Comedian/actor Deon Cole will host the American Black Film Festival, which reveres excellence in film and television, hailing black culture with unique benefaction to American entertainment and those who conquer diversity in Hollywood.
Foxx is celebrated at a time where he is being praised for his role in ”Just Mercy,” alongside Michael B. Jordan.
In the movie, Foxx plays Walter McMillan, a wrongfully convicted factory worker who was sentenced to death for murder. The based on facts film grossed $32.1 million at the box office.
The ceremony takes place on February 23, in LA.
