Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Definition Of Love” Note For Sale At $42K

In the mid-1960s, an admirer asked Dr. King his meaning of love. Nearly 55 years later, his scribbled down answer is up for auction —selling for $42,000. The memorabilia company, Moments in Time currently owns the historic document.

According to The Union Journal, the note was originally acquired from a souvenir dealer in London who had no idea the value of the note.

The note reads, ”Love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the heartbeat of the moral cosmos. He who loves is a participant in the being of God.”

Outside of some inscribed books and parchment, there is not much out there written in the civil rights icon’s handwriting. So coming across such a rare memento is very valuable.

There are no details on where or how Moments in Time will go about the sale at this point.
