A middle school teacher in Zachary, Louisiana, has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old student, according to law enforcement reports.
The teacher, Ella, 34, taught at Northwestern Middle School and has been held on a $225,000 bond at the East Baton Rouge Parish prison since Thursday. She is charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She was placed on administrative leave in January.
The Zachary Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office are handling the investigation. The student has not been identified, and Baller Alert is not sharing details from the case that could identify or further harm him.
Zachary schools Superintendent Scott Devillier said the district reported the matter to law enforcement as soon as it learned of it and placed the employee on leave. “No one is covering up anything, nor sweeping anything under the rug. We are following the law, and I am unable to comment beyond this information,” he said.
The charges are allegations and Ella has not been convicted. Baller Alert was not able to find a public statement from her at the time of the arrest.
