A new documentary about #TupacShakur will explore the idea that the rapper who has been presumed to be dead is actually alive and well in New Mexico.
Now look, we’ve all had our theories about what happened the night Tupac was gunned down in Las Vegas back in 1996. Still, a new doc titled “2Pac: The Great Escape from UMC” is supporting the idea that the rapper faked his death and is now living amongst a Native American tribe in New Mexico.
The documentary claims that Tupac knew about the planned hit on him, which allegedly gave him time to plant a body double in #SugeKnight’s car. The doc’s filmmaker, Rick Boss, says Tupac still ended up in University Medical Center but escaped. Instead of being six-feet-under, the film claims Tupac was picked up by a private helicopter, dropped off in New Mexico, and then taken in by the Navajo tribe. Page Six reports that authorities cannot enter tribal land without permission.
Boss says that while the story seems farfetched, his belief has been gently supported by Shakur’s inner circle. “This is not a fiction. This is facts through certain people I know,” Boss told the local KTNV. The only part of Boss’ story that doesn’t exactly hold up is how Shakur’s actual body ended up in the hospital’s care if a body double was placed in Knight’s car. Boss has yet to answer that question following a request for comment.
“Let’s just say Mr. Shakur — the family is aware of the movie, and they’re okay with the title, so that should tell you more or less what’s going on,” Boss told the station. Knight, who was in the car with Shakur at the time of the shooting, also has a similar story to Boss’. The film is currently in production and is expected to be released next year.
