Jeff Bezos, the wealthiest man in the world, just bought a new home in L.A. and set a new record for the most expensive real estate sale in the area. The estate, previously owned by Dreamworks creator David Geffen and originally owned by the founder of Warner Bros. Jack Warner, sold for a record-breaking $165 million.
The last record-breaking property sale in L.A. was for the house-made famous by the hit television series, “The Beverly Hillbillies,” which sold for $150 million in 2019. Bezos’s new mega-mansion is over 13,000 square feet and boasts gardens, guest houses, a greenhouse, a swimming pool, tennis court, a 9-hole golf course, and the garage has its own gas pumps.
In addition to this mansion, Bezos is reportedly on a real estate spending spree. He’s also purchased an undeveloped lot of land in L.A. for $90 million and three NYC apartments for $80 million, totaling over $335 million on real estate purchases alone. Unfortunately, no one is getting the $8 million commission off of the $165 million sale as Bezos reportedly didn’t go through a real estate agent.
