A prosecutor in Atlanta is deciding whether to launch a new investigation after a woman claimed to have proof the legendary singer’s death was caused by another person, his spokesman said.
According to NBC Chicago, a woman identified as Jacque Hollander reportedly contacted Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard’s office, claiming Brown’s 2006 death may have been a homicide.
D. A. Howard met with Hollander on Wednesday and accepted a bin of materials she claimed were related to Brown’s death. Howard’s spokesperson said the prosecutor is reviewing the materials Hollander brought and will decide whether to open an investigation.
Brown, the legendary Godfather of Soul, was 73 when he died of heart failure on Christmas day back in 2006, less than two days after being hospitalized for treatment of pneumonia in Atlanta.
According to TMZ, during a 2017 interview with CNN, Dr. Marvin Crawford, the doctor who signed James’ death certificate- said he’d always questioned what exactly triggered Brown’s heart attack and whether the sudden death was triggered by an overdose-accidental or otherwise.
