Amazon CEO & Billionaire Jeff Bezos Pledges $10 Billion To Fight Climate Change

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced via Instagram that he would be pledging a staggering $10 billion to fight climate change through a new fund he is calling the Bezos Earth Fund.

In an Instagram post, Bezos explained that the funds will be used to assist in “any effort that offers a real possibility” to help halt the damaging impacts of climate change on the planet.

“Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet. I want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share,” Bezos said.

While details are few, Bezos said grants from the fund will begin being distributed as early as this summer.

Bezos currently has a net worth of about $130 billion.
