Longtime actress Esther Scott has passed away after suffering an apparent heart attack, TMZ reports.
According to the publication, the veteran actress had a heart attack last Tuesday, and was found unconscious shortly after. She was then taken to the hospital, where she remained until Friday when she passed away.
“She loved what she did. She would get stopped on the street often, and people would recognize her — but they didn’t know her name,” said Scott’s sister, Shaun, as she revealed Scott was surrounded by family and loved ones at the time of her passing. “Hopefully, now people will remember her name, her work, and the contributions she gave to the entertainment industry.”
Scott began her career as a voice actress on “Star Wars: Ewoks,” and went on to become a successful character actress. Between recurring appearances on ‘Sister, Sister,” as Lisa’s friend Mattie, “The Help,” as Doris,” and “Hart of Dixie,” as Delma Warner, and a long list of appearances in film, Scott will definitely be remembered for her contribution to the industry.
Scott was 66. Our condolences to the family.
