LHHATL star Sierra Gates has been accused of assaulting a pregnant woman.

According to court documents obtained by Bossip, Gates was charged with two counts of battery;  one count of battery against a female who is pregnant. Bossip reports the alleged attack happened back in the summer of 2017. However, Gates was charged the summer of 2019.

The assault was categorized as a crime of “high and aggravated nature,” according to state statute. If convicted, Gates could be looking at five years in state prison for just the battery charge. The alleged victim has not been named.

Gates starred in the 6th and 7th seasons of the reality series, along with her former husband, Rod Gates. The old couple divorced in 2018. According to Bossip, Adamma McKimmon, who represented Kevin Mccall against Eva Marcille, will stand as Gate’s attorney. Gates’s recent court hearing was back in December 2019 for a final plea hearing. The show requested to film, but the court date was dropped after the reality TV star’s attorney argued that the state had yet to submit evidence for Gates to use in her defense.

Viewers may have already known about Gates’ possibly of going to prison when she said, “I might be going to jail” in the sneak peek trailer for the new episode. “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” comes back next month.
