Baller Alert Exclusive: Diggy Simmons Talks Learning About LGBTQ Rights On “Grown-ish” and More!

Diggy Simmons is best know as the son of Rev. Run of Run DMC, but he’s made a name for himself as an established rapper and actor.

In a recent interview with Baller Alert, Simmons opened up about his recurring role in Grown-Ish, alongside Yara Shahidi, and revealed what he’s learned about himself so far in his acting career.  “It’s like you have to know yourself a certain amount to really be able to be a great actor. So I just kind of pay attention to how I react to things, I’m like, ’oh so how would this character react,’ you know so more so that.” Although he did say it’s not easy to just “be” with cameras and lights and producers, he said it’s all a cool learning experience.

Also during the interview, he explained how cool it isnto have social commentary, where people can relate to Grown-ish. Diggy said that he’s even learned about college life and LGBTQ rights through the show, and more about himself as a Black African American.
