JustBlaze claims Joe Budden’s popular hit “Pump It Up” was originally about masturbation.

On the latest episode of Sole Collector’s Full-Size Run, Just Blaze revealed the original message behind Budden’s hit track “Pump It Up.” Blaze was joined by co-hosts Trinidad James, Matt Welty, and Brendane Dunne. Blaze produced the 2003 banger and said it was actually about rubbing one out.

“Do you know the original version of ‘Pump It Up’ was about masturbation? You know how in the second verse he’s like, ‘My jump off doesn’t care if I go out so much. My jump off…’ Originally it was, ‘My hand doesn’t worry if I go out so much. My hand doesn’t worry about… My hand…’ That’s a fun fact,” said the producer. Blaze is the second person to confirm the story, #Royceda59 said the same of the song back in a 2013 tweet.

“This n***as @JoeBudden just told me that “Pump it up” was originally written about Jerking off.. The jump-off was his hand,” Royce wrote. Initially, the beat was up for grabs for Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and Jay-Z prior to Budden, according to Complex Media. Since its release, it’s become Budden’s highest-charting single, sitting at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100.
