NYPD questioned five suspects and now have a motive in the wild mob beating of a 15-year-old girl on a Brooklyn street, law enforcement sources said Friday.
According to the NY Post, 5 of the teenage boys involved in the beating turned themselves in with their parents early Friday.
A law enforcement source told the Post, the boys’ names and ages were not immediately clear, and no charges have been filed as of early Saturday morning.
The attack is believed to be retaliation against the girl who had a fight with another girl in school on Thursday.
The beating, which was caught on camera, occurred after the girl allegedly beat up another girl. The group of teenage attackers were allegedly friends with the girl who the victim had tussled with.
The disturbing surveillance video shows the moment, the girl was attacked by crowds of teenagers who kicked and stomped on her as she lay helplessly on the ground.
One of the teen attackers then snatched the victims’ sneakers off her feet before the group bolted.
The teen was taken to a nearby hospital with head trauma and was later released, officials said.
