Taraji P. Henson talks planning her upcoming wedding with former NFL Cornerback, Kelvin Hayden, and how overwhelming it has become.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, Henson says that has delayed her wedding due to her hectic work schedule and family plans.
“It’s overwhelming because in my work life, I have dates and emails, and in my personal life it’s like, ‘Ah!’ I don’t think people understand what goes into wedding planning, trying to match everything up is so crazy.”
Taraji and Kelvin had originally planned to get married in April, but they’re now looking to have a small ceremony sometime before July.
The 49-year-old actress may have changed the date of her wedding, but one thing that won’t change is her wedding dress.
“I want my Vera Wang! That’s the only exciting part to me, to be quite honest.”
Kelvin, on the other hand, has taken a more subtle approach to wedding planning. “Kelvin’s a typical guy, he doesn’t care. He’s like, ‘Whatever you say, babe, whatever you want babe!’ He’ll roll with it, but he wants his ring.”
Henson also mentioned that it’s “bittersweet” saying goodbye Cookie. The feisty matriarch of the Lyons family, Henson plays on the FOX drama.
“All good things come to an end. I just like that we’re leaving on top and people are going to miss us, they’re not like, ‘Ah! Is this show over yet?!’” Henson continues, “People are genuinely going to miss this family that we created, and that feels good.”
