Ciara and Russell Wilson will be extending a helping hand by donating 1 million meals in their state of Seattle to an organization called Food Lifeline. The couple made the announcement on social media last night, Tuesday (March 17). This generous donation is in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks QB, opened their announcement by saying the growing pandemic was changing abruptly, “second by second, minute by minute.”
“People are losing loved ones. The elderly and the young. The people in between. You think about people losing jobs — even in Seattle,” he said.
Ciara, Grammy-award winning artist and mother of three, asked during their announcement for those who can do so to take initiative and help.
“We want to encourage everyone out there to join us in whatever way that you can, big or small. Everything makes a difference. Everything that we do together makes a difference,” she said.
The married couple also motivated everyone to practice social distancing and keep their faith high. They also added that we will be able to get through this incredibly tough time.
According to CNN Health, as of today, Wednesday (March 18), there have been 6,135 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in all 50 states, including Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands with 112 total number of deaths.
