Vanessa Bryant has filed legal documents to protect all of her children.
The widowed mother of four has asked a judge to amend her late husband’s trust so she can provide for their youngest daughter, Capri, who was born after the most recent version of his trust document was drafted and signed.
According to TMZ Sports, basketball legend Kobe Bryant created a trust to provide for Vanessa and his kids way back in 2003. The trust was amended several times, most recently in 2017. It seems every time one of their four children was born, they modified the trust to include them, but the trust had not yet been amended after their youngest daughter Capri was born.
Vanessa has now petitioned the court, asking a judge to include 9-month-old Capri, and explains it was obviously the intent of her late husband to provide for his children. He even said so generally in one on the documents.
According to the structure of the trust agreement, Vanessa, Natalia, and Bianka can draw from the principal and income in the trust during Vanessa’s lifetime. Then the children get the remainder upon Vanessa’s death; she wants to make sure that Capri is included in that distribution.
