A suspect in the April shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus has been arrested and the details are becoming shadier and shadier by the minute. Reports say, the alleged shooter targeted Lil Wayne for street cred.
We were sent the photo above as a Baller Mail. The mugshot is of the suspect, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey from a 2014 drug related arrest. The photo to the right allegedly (can’t tell for sure) is Winfrey alongside Birdman and Young Thug in a club. No word on whether or not he is in any way affiliated with the music mogul but the very public feud between Wayne, Birdman and Thug raises eye brows. I can only hope things didn’t get taken that far. I’m sure Birdman would never be connected to something this crazy anyway.
25 year old Jimmy Carlton Winfrey has been charged with numerous felonies — aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage, possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal gang activity, reckless conduct and discharging a weapon near the street, but was not in custody Thursday afternoon, according to Cobb County jail records. Police say Winfrey was driving the vehicle the shots were fired from and did it for gang status. “Said accused did commit said act in order to gain status in his criminal organization by a committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist,” the warrant states. “Said accused has associated himself with known blood gang members in the Atlanta area.” Very interesting considering Lil Wayne, in the past, has affiliated himself with the Bloods as well.
Luckily no one was hurt in the shooting, which caused over $20,000 in damage. Strange that the young man isn’t in custody, though. Something weird is going on.
