A 34-year-old California man has died after testing positive of coronavirus just days ago, and 2 weeks after he visited Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida.

According to TMZ, Jeffrey Ghazarian from Glendora, CA, died Thursday morning at a Pasadena hospital after spending 5 days hooked up to a ventilator-fighting for his life.

Ghazarian’s sister told TMZ, “He suffered a lot and put up a good fight. We will miss our Jeff everyday, but we are thankful for all the fun happy memories of the times we had together.”

According to his family, Ghazarian flew to Orlando on March 2 for a work conference, and then stayed a few extra days to visit Disney World and Universal theme parks with his friends.

By March 7, he developed a cough, and the next day he reportedly coughed up blood. He returned to California via LAX on March 9 with a high fever and immediately went to the ER.

The Ghazarian family says a chest x-ray confirmed Jeff had pneumonia, and he was then tested for COVID-19 and sent home with antibiotics. Doctors instructed him to self-quarantine until they got the results back. On March 13th, the test results confirmed he was positive. Doctors provided a portable oxygen meter to keep an eye on his levels but he took a turn for the worse that afternoon.

The next day, Jeff was taken to the hospital and transferred to the ICU where it was discovered his lungs were 60-70 percent blocked with pneumonia.

Even though his family claims he was approved for antiviral meds — he never got the medication in time. He passed away Thursday morning.

Jeffrey was what is considered an at-risk patient. He had a history of asthma and frequent bronchitis throughout childhood, though he outgrew that. He was also a cancer survivor, who had beat testicular cancer back in 2016.

The CDC is now stressing that young people can also be at high risk for the virus and is warning the public to continue to take all precautions.
