The coronavirus has seemingly altered all aspects of our daily lives, from work to church to sporting events. With many of us bored out of our minds, the Big3 is looking to offer some much-needed relief to the restlessness and anxiety that we are all feeling.

It is being reported that the Big3 is gearing up to launch a quarantined reality-style tournament, a welcome substitute for the pro-basketball games that have all been canceled or postponed. The preseason competition will feature 16 to 22 Big3 players, all who have tested negative for the coronavirus. The interesting part is that the games would then take place under quarantine in Los Angeles, and any player who violates that quarantine would be booted from the premises. The tournament would be composed of seven rounds, with teammates being switched up after the first round. A player is eliminated if he loses three times. The winners would be eligible for cash prizes, with “millions of dollars” being awarded to first, second, and third-place finishers. Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph, and Greg Oden were all named by Yahoo Sports as players who could participate if the tournament comes to fruition. The court would be built on-site in a “large home provided by the league.”

According to Yahoo Sports, the three-on-three variety tournament is looking to take place in April. The publication added that the league is in talks with several networks to have the tournament possibly broadcasted. It is even believed to have “international interest,” according to sources who spoke with Yahoo.

The reality-style aspect of the project will come into play with players having their daily lives documented for the purpose of additional storylines with a production crew nearby, though not in the actual house.⠀⠀⠀

“As long as we can protect the players, which we will do through proper testing and quarantine, Ice cube and I feel we can give fans some safe, entertaining brand of basketball to get everyone through this pandemic,” league co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz revealed to Yahoo Sports. “Cube and I have been in the entertainment business for 30 years. This is our job. People want to be entertained with all we’re going through and enjoy our sports. We think this will help.”
